Movies that lead the way!
Kollywood has been an avatar of Inspiration and has created cinema with fine leadership qualities. Some of the movies raise your spirits and give a gratified feeling when you leave the theatres. They might be mafia’s, don’s, Politically inclined however they sure have made a mark, a look at a few of the movies over the last few decades that transformed into “larger than life” effects on the people.
Naayagan
No better movie than Kamal Hassan’s magnum opus, Mani ratnam directed Naayagan could have made such a mark. The movie is an avalanche of Kamal Hassan’s best acting till date without a doubt showcasing the agony of Mumbai Tamilians, and how he transforms into a savior to clear their woes.
Billa
Nama Thala’s style avatar of a don in Malaysia who drops his hair for nothing and goes about with the signature of nothing is wrong if it is righteous to us. The movie set in the backdrop of mafia and went on to become AJith’s biggest blockbuster and even designed the way for a franchise.
Baasha
Superstar sizzled and made us watch this movie over and over a dozen more times and still going on! Such is the power of this movie where Rajini plays an Autodriver who had a past, which at the mere mention of his name sends chills up this spine for every mafia out there. The dialogues of this movie are power packed and sparkle never fading away from our minds!
Ramanna
A one word – Masterpiece! Taking the lengths and breadths of corruption, the movie revolves around a layman teacher who transforms into a leader and a terror among the ones who even think about being corrupt! Vijaykanth’s best till date is a movie to never forget through the lifetime!
Mudhalvan
The opulent director Shankar comes out with a story that made heads turn and bolt up! In one day what a young CM can catapult and change the design of politics, how it diversely affects the system and that is Mudhalvan. Arjun and Shankar created magic through this movie that still does not die out!
Thamizhan
Vijay’s Thamizhan was phenomenal in giving an insight of the power of Lawyers and how they can bring about a change. A fine example of leadership and skillful tactics where Vijay plays the lawyer who takes up the system’s loopholes and reaches out to educate the common man who is unmindful of what law really means!
Ayutha Ezhthu
Mani sir is a magic made in human form, and he comes to give Kollywood a movie that is revolutionary in its thought and process. Three different personalities come together and how the crux of events changes their lives, Surya carves out how a student can rise among all obstacles to become an example to lead the society.
With Thalaivaa on the block we have to wait and watch if this falls into the elegant list of must watch movies! There are still several more which we can go yapping all day! So share the one’s you adore!

Tapsee on Ajith and Nayantara
Tapsee the bubbly actress who plays the role of a journalist in the movie has blah blah’ed about her co-actors to a leading magazine, a few of the tidbits she says on Ajith and Nayantara from the movie: When asked about Ajith, the actress has quipped that working with Ajith was so much learning and once when she was aghast about the reports from twitter on her role etc, Ajith was the one who came to her rescue and pacified saying these are very common and once the trailer is out, everyone is gonna forget that.
She also said that Nayantara used to be very serious in the sets, however knowing her later on was fun and they hanged out pretty well during Manali shooting. Working with Aramabam was fun on and off the sets, as said by the actor.

Bad news for Samantha!
Samantha might be on a roll and riding high with a slew of big-ticket films in her kitty. While busy with Telugu and Tamil films, she is apparently envy of Mahesh Babu‘s handsome who is getting younger day by day despite turning older in age.
Greeting her co-star Mahesh Babu on his birthday on Friday, Samantha tweeted, “Wishing superstar Mahesh babu a super awesome year… Happy birthday..”
Quipping she added, “He keeps getting younger every year…bad news for us heroines..”.
Samantha has paired up with Mahesh Babu twice in recent times for Dookudu and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and both the films turned out to be money spinners and blockbusters at box-office.

Anushka fit to do action
Tamil actor Aarya, who has teamed up with popular southern actress Anushka in upcoming Tamil romantic-drama “Irandam Ulagam“, says she is fit enough to do action sequences, and it doesn’t even look artificial.
“Not all actresses can pull off action easily. One needs perfect stature for doing action sequences and I believe Anushka is fit for that. She is very much suitable for doing action scenes and, therefore, it doesn’t look artificial,” Aarya told.
Anushka has already indulged in sword-fighting and horse riding in Telugu fantasy-drama “Arundhati“. She was especially lauded for her action skills in the film.
She is also preparing herself in special action skills for upcoming Telugu period-dramas “Rudhramadevi” and “Baahubali“.
In “Irandam Ulagam” too, Anushka will be seen in an action avatar.
“She was amazing in the action sequences. Best of her action skills can be seen in some sword-fighting action sequences, while she has also performed somersault in a few scenes. I’m sure the audiences are going to love her performance,” Aarya added.
Directed by Selvaraghavan, “Irandam Ulagam” is a love story laced with fantasy and action set in two different worlds.

Big Telugu Hero in Kajal Agarwal’s Net!!!
Greed for money has no limits and if we have to believe all that we hear, sensuous siren Kajal Agarwal is a good example. Her latest acts are quite surprising and at the same time she is in need of a big advice too.
The success of Naayak and Baadshah haven’t pushed Kajal Agarwal to new heights in Tollywood. As the pretty lady demanded more than a crore ever since the success of those two flicks, she is offered no movies here.
Kajal Agarwal is covering her losses saying that she is busy with couple of Tamil movies on hand. Actually she took more than 40 days break to find at least one Telugu movie, but nothing worked out. However, latest buzz is that a big Telugu hero who is struggling to find heroines has finally zeroed on this big-eyed voluptuous siren. Insiders say that she is persuading everyday that except her no one would match better beside him.
Already Kajal Agarwal lost Pawan Kalyan‘s Gabbar Singh sequel and Mahesh Babu‘s Dookudu sequel. Either she should have convinced this big hero now by lowering her remuneration or she should have flattered him. Whatever it is, Kajal is signing a Telugu flick soon.

Aishwarya opposite Mahesh Babu?
Going by strong rumour mill, Aishwarya is being considered to pair up with Mahesh Babu in his upcoming film.
Don’t jump into quick assumptions. If you think it’s about Aishwarya Rai, and she is making her grand comeback opposite Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu then you’ve certainly mistaken.
The talk is that actor Arjun’s daughter Aishwarya Arjun is likely to play second fiddle in Mahesh’s next film Aagadu.
Being lead heroine is Tamanna, the talk is Srinu has roped in Aishwarya for the other role. Mahesh, who is currently in London, is likely to give his nod after coming back to India. SS Thaman will score the music.
Currently in pre-production phase Srinu Vytla is leaving no stone unturned to make this another blockbuster after Dookudu.

Pattathu Yaanai review
Pattathu Yaanai is a 2013 Tamil film directed by Boopathy Pandian and produced by Michael Rayappan.
The film features Vishal and Aishwarya Arjun in the lead roles with Santhanam playing a supporting role.
Music was composed by Thaman, and the film released on July 26, 2013 alongside with its Telugu dubbed version Dheeradu.
Movie: Pattathu Yaanai
Directed: Boopathy Pandian
Produced: Michael Rayappan
Star Cast: Vishal as Saravanan, Aishwarya Arjun as Aishwarya, Santhanam as Poongavanam / Gouravam, Jagan, John Vijay, Ajay, Murali Sharma, Seetha, Mayilsamy, Pattimandram Raja, Vada Poche Sarithiran, Karthik Sabesh
Music: Thaman, Sabesh-Murali (bgm)
Cinematography: S. Vaithy
Editing: AL Ramesh
Studio: Global Infotainment Pvt Ltd
Distributed: Michael Rayappan, Vishal
Nothing seems to be different from Boopathy Pandian as his latest offering Pattathu Yaanai is yet another commercial potboiler in his own style. To make it simple, it’s a stereotypical Hero Vs Baddie and a girl remains to be the major cause for this conflict. Lets say, it’s a modified version of Vishal-Boopathy’s previous film Malaikottai that was deliberately made with the attempt of mixing humour with action.
Set in backdrops of Karaikudi, Gauravam (Santhanam) is a cook taking up catering orders. He has a 5-team member – Saadha Saravana (Vishal), Dosa Mani, Pongal Kumar, etc. Situations shift them to Trichy, where Saravana falls in love with a school-going teen Aishwarya (Aishwarya) at first sight. Things break loose out of hell as the confrontations begin between two gangs and what turns out to be more shocking is Saravana’s past in Madurai.
As mentioned earlier, Boopathy Pandian completely sticks to his ritual formulae of adding humour and action throughout the film. The first half completely belongs to Santhanam as his non-stop comedy sequence pulls you through the roller coaster laughter. In fact, he carries the entire first half (approximately 90mins) on his shoulders. But it’s a big disappointment to see him go miss in the second hour, but Boopathy Pandian uses his old technique of transforming the baddies into comedians. The prototyped narration of predictable screenplay diminishes your interest.
Vishal‘s underplayed performance in the first half giving more space for other actors is a justice to script, but his back-to-action pavillion doesn’t hold us intact. Vishal enjoying his life even after a serious past and there is no sense of emotional bond in him. Apparently, why couldn’t a powerful Kingpin leaves his prey from own territory and goes chasing after him after three years is an illogical factor.
Aishwarya Arjun could have gone for a better debut and she doesn’t carry more than 10 lines of dialogues in the entire film. She has to exert a lot of effort in expressions and body language. Santhanam is the showstopper and others in the cast like Jagan, John Vijay, Murali Sharma perform well to perfection. Vada Poche Sarithiran remains dumb throughout the film and he seems to have been purposely added for the sake of attraction.
On the technical front, S Thaman’s musical score is okay with a couple of songs scoring high. The cinematography by Vaithy is quite appreciable.
Overall, Pattathu Yaanai carries the trace of Vishal’s previous films. It looks like humour and action should have been the top priority of Boopathy Pandian and he fails to impress us with an engaging screenplay. But if you’ve decided to watch this film, just get-in-and-get-out without thinking twice about it.

Irandam Ulagam Trailer review
The trailer of Selvaraghavan‘s long in the making Irandam Ilagam was finally released today morning and the response to the trailer has been really positive. The hard work that has gone into the movie is evident particularly in the visual effects department, though they look a bit too obvious and flashy at places. The top class cinematography by Ramji, the costumes, the art work and the attention to detail are also evident.
The trailer proclaims that the movie is a story which spans two worlds and that love is the common emotion which binds both. “How Far Will You Travel For Love?”, asks Selvaraghavan through Irandam Ulagam.
Forever pretty Anushka has put in a lot of effort in the stunts too, while Aarya‘s work in making his body look its brutal best, is also evident. Both the stars have two distinct makeovers with Aarya apparently going the extra mile for his role in the ‘other world’. His beastly, rugged, long-haired make-over for this avatar is sure to win accolades. The last shot of the trailer, revealing bruises and scars in his body, is truly chilling.
We are also presented some really dangerous animals in the ‘other world’ and the imagination of the team is interesting. You might be reminded of those weird looking animals from Avatar’s Pandora.
Harris Jayaraj takes the cake for having made the best impact and really lifting the trailer several notches with his inspired background score. The Gregorian-type chants, the soothing male vocal harmonies and the apt usage of the orchestra befits the movie’s stature and theme.

Anushka’s Apple safe, biscuits lost
Guessing what this is all about? Call it a misadventure or a funny incident? It’s a close call for Anushka, who cannot forget about an event that happened in Georgia while shooting for Selvaraghavan‘s Irandam Ulagam.
The actress had accidentally forgot her bag of expensive of items that include laptop, Apple phone and few other gadgets. It nearly took a hour to get back and see if it is still there. To a surprise, Anushka found back her bag under a tree with just a pack of biscuits and chips stolen.
Everyone in the team praised Anushka for her spellbinding work as she spent 90 days of shooting under the toilsome climatic conditions.

Aishwarya takes inspiration from Sridevi
Generally, Star Kids claim that their parents or any one from their families as the role models or inspiration. However, an action hero’s daughter takes inspiration from evergreen heroine Sridevi.
Aishwarya, daughter of Action King Arjun, is a die-hard fan of Sridevi. The 22-year-old says Sri stopped acting when she began watching movies and made a comeback with ‘English Vinglish‘ just before she made her debut as an actress with Tamil flick ‘PattathuYaanai‘.
Aish feels Sridevi is the real example of a heroine and the only actor who set the bar high in all the the areas like acting, beauty and dances. Before beginning her career, She even watched all of Sridevi‘s films to learn the nuances of acting.
The one-film old actress recollects the memories of meeting Sridevi once during a New Year’s dinner at Star Hotel. She, however, regrets even Today for not taking any pictures with the veteran at that time.If given a chance to bump into Sridevi once again, she would surely won’t waste the golden opportunity. Hopefully, Aishwarya‘s dream comes true very soon!

I will die: Kajal Agarwal
Not very often does Actors reveal about the important aspects of the roles they were playing prior to the release as it kills the curiosity element. Kajal Agarwal seems to be thinking otherwise and went on to reveal that she is gonna die in her upcoming film ‘Yevadu‘ as part of the script.
To a question on how has been the year 2013 for her, She replied, “So far, 2013 has been good for me as far as Telugu Film Industry is concerned. Two of my films ‘Nayak‘ and ‘Baadshah‘ have be successful and soon ‘Yevadu‘ would be releasing. Though I have done a cameo as a pair to Allu Arjun, It was a nice role. I will die in the film and the story takes a crucial turn from there onwards”.
Kajal Agarwal declares language has never been a problem for her, be it Telugu or Tamil. While she could speak Telugu, she some how manages do well with Tamil too. For her, understanding what others have been speaking around her or the things other have been conveying to her is more important and she is able to do a fine job.
Even after three months after the release of ‘Baadshah‘, Kajal Agarwal isn’t able to sign a single Telugu film. All of her upcoming films have been with the Tamil heroes – one each with Vijay, Karthi and Udayanidhi Stalin.

Age-less Sridevi Kills With Killer Looks
Living up to the name that she got no signs of ageing when it comes to maintaining those killer looks that can melt the hearts of youths, ravishing diva Sridevi has done an unthinkable now. Defying her age, she actually wanted to give a stunning treat and she did it.
Posing for the latest issue of Vogue India, India’s most admired heroine has shown how naughty she could turn irrespective of her age. Showcasing her killer curves in short knickers and tight tops, Sridevi made sure that shedding oomph will be her top priority. At a time when her contemporaries like Madhuri Dixit are trying to win youths with their crazy moves, Sridevi’s craziest looks, cleavage shows, shapely thighs and moreover that never ending oomph factor is simply mind blowing.
Also one would wonder how Sridevi’s daughters Janvi and Kushi would survive as heroines when their mother is still rocking the circuits like this. No doubt, the hot mother should first retire to pave way for her daughters.

Sherlyn Chopra’s Sensible Outburst On Telangana
There is no doubt in saying that the declaration of Telangana state has been the most insensible and irrational political decision of modern times.
Except the power mongering bunch of crooked politicians, none in their sane health and mental stability wants it.
The impact is so much that even someone like Sherlyn Chopra seems to be affected.
Generally known for her unwanted controversial statements, this time she came up with something more sensible.
Apparently, Sherlyn Chopra considers herself a proper Hyderabadi and she was sharing her thoughts when she reportedly failed to understand the need for breaking AP and giving Telangana.
She adds more sense when she mentioned that the amount of crores that would be spent on developing a new state could actually be spent on developing the infrastructure and socio-economic growth of Andhra Pradesh.
It is a shame that the maturity and common sense that Sherlyn Chopra is showing, our honorable leaders are not showing.

Hansika Motwani gets Her Price
Money does make the world go round. It’s no different in the film industry. It is a business like any other and artistes believe in making hay while the sun shines.
Well, the new generation heroines are no exception to this rule. They are smart, work-savvy and know how to handle the industry.
Not so long ago, Hansika was approached for a role in the remake of Chaitanya-starrer Hello Brother to be directed by Srinivas Reddy.
Since the script demands two heroines, Hansika was the first choice. Hansika quoted a certain price that did not go well with the makers. Hansika on her part was adamant about her price.
So, the makers tried to rope in another girl. But they couldn’t find a bubbly, hot and sensuous girl like Hansika Motwani. It goes without saying that they came right back to Hansika Motwani. Once the price was decided upon, she approved the project. Indeed, money makes many things happen!

Priyanka Chopra treats Ram Charan as Huge Star
National media has been treating Ram Charan who is making Hindi debut with ‘Zanjeer’ just like any other newcomer who is testing his/her luck in Bollywood. However, Priyanka Chopra who is sharing screen space with the Telugu hero for the first time isn’t okay with it.
To a question on how was it working with Ram Charan who is not so much popular in the other parts of the country, Piggy Chops told that Charan is a huge star with a loyal fan base.
Asserting that she had great fun shooting for ‘Zanjeer’ and working with the Tollywood star, Priyanka reveals Ram Charan is very focused as an actor and down-to-earth as a person. She is thankful for Charan and Upasana for treating the unit so well when they were shooting in Hyderabad.
Director Apoorva Lakhia is very clear on what he wants from the actors and this factor helped everyone to perform better in a short period. The entire shoot for both the versions got wrapped up in just 71 days and out of which Priyanka who will be seen as the new version of Mala (played by Jaya Bachchan in the original) worked for 21 days to finish her portions.

Samantha’s Royal touch
Here is the exclusive pic of Samantha in a Jewellery commercial that was recently shot. She is so beautiful in this new avatar and the million dollar smile is a bonus. Her attire, heavy jewellery and the sitting posture resembled to that of a princess in a royal family. The decorative items and the art work in the background added richness to the entire setting.
Samantha was like a golden duck for her producers with most of her films released until now getting the approval of the audience. Wish she brings the good fortune for the brands she endorses too!

Anjali Returns to Kollywood
After doing the rounds in the headlines for a spat with her step mother, Anjali had vowed never to return to Tamil cinema. But looks like she is reconsidering her decision, as the actress is coming to the Kollywood to shoot for the film ‘Ganga‘.
Apart from this, it is to be recalled that the actress did an item number in the recent release of director Hari, starring Surya, Anushka and Hansika Motwani in the lead, ‘Singam 2‘.
However, after she went missing, the actress declared on returning that she will not continue acting in the film directed by Kalanjiyam.
The director has filed a case against the actress, which is awaiting a verdict at the court of law. Meanwhile, the actress’ step mother also filed a case, demanding money in compensation every month, as she is lonely after the actress has left her.
